  • Freshman Peyton Dunkle got her collegiate tennis career off to a strong start this past weekend at the Cal Winter Invite, finishing a perfect 3-0 in singles to claim her first Big West weekly award.  

  • The native of Arroyo Grande, Calif., beat Cal's Makenna Thiel 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 to open play in the three-day event. Dunkle followed that up with a win over Olivia Rook from Saint Mary's 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-4. On the final day of tournament play, she glided to a 6-0, 6-0 defeat of Santa Clara's Varya Zlotnik.
