It is the Santa Barbara, Calif. native's second career weekly honor from the league, having won it once last season. In the opening game of the weekend series at home against the Roadrunners, Montgomery threw nine innings, giving up for hits and two walks for one earned run, while compiling eight strikeouts as the Beach prevailed 3-2. The win was significant as it helped Long Beach State win the series over Cal State Bakersfield. Long Beach State is 14-19 overall and 8-10 in conference play.
