High School Auburn Mountainview HS Kamana Nahaku slashed .455/.520/1.182 with 10 hits, 5 home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs, leading Hawai´i to a 4-1 record, to win The Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award. It is Nahaku's first career weekly honor from the conference. The senior started the week with a hit in a 2-1 win over UC Davis on Monday, that secured the series sweep for the Rainbow Warriors. The Rainbow Warrior outfielder went 3-for-6 with a double, RBI and two runs in a 9-8 victory against Hawai´i Hilo, Tuesday. Nahaku hit the game-tying RBI single in the ninth inning. The Auburn, Wash. product went 2-for-2 with a walk, home run, three RBI and two runs in the series opener at CSUN, Friday. Nahaku hit the go-ahead grand slam in a 9-3 triumph at CSUN, Saturday. In the series finale on Sunday, the second-year Rainbow Warrior hit three home runs, including a two-run shot in the ninth to punctuate a 10-run inning for a 14-10 comeback victory over CSUN. Nahaku is the first UH player since 2009 (Kolten Wong) and just the sixth ever to hit three homers in a game, and also the first Rainbow Warrior since 2015 to homer in three straight games. Hawai´i is 20-6 overall and 8-4 in conference play. Nahaku is hittint .348 with six home runs, 19 RBI and 24 runs.
