  • Cal State Bakersfield's Jemel Jones averaged 25.5 points, including a buzzer-beating shot for the win, wins to claim The Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. It is Jones' first career weekly honor from the conference. 
     
  • The Roadrunner junior shot 53.8 percent (21-of-39) from the field and 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from the charity stripe on the week.
     
  • Jones amassed 37 points, shooting 14-of-23 from the floor and 8-of-11 from the free throw line, with five rebounds and three assists in an 88-87 overtime win at Long Beach State, Thursday. Two of the 37 points came on a buzzer-beating shot to ensure the Roadrunner win. It was Cal State Bakersfield's first season series sweep of the Beach since 2008, and the first road win at LBSU since 2021.
     
  • The Chicago, Ill. product scored 14 points at Cal Poly to become Cal State Bakersfield's single-season scoring leader in Division I with 581 points. 
  • The Roadrunners are 13-18 overall and 7-12 in league play. Jones is averaging 18.7 points per game.
