High School University HS Tanner Christensen of Hawai'i averaged 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two wins to claim The Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. It is Christensen's first career weekly honor. The Rainbow Warrior center shot 73.7 percent (14-of-19) from the floor in the two contests. Christensen started the week with 14 points, seven rebounds, one steal and one block in Monday's 76-66 win over Pacific in the Rainbow Classic title game. The Spokane Valley, Wash. native scored 25 points, on 10-of-11 shooting, with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in a 73-68 overtime home win over Weber State, Sunday. Two of Crhsitensen's 25 points was the game-tying basket with six seconds left in regulation to send the game into extras. Hawai'i is 4-0 to start the year with Christensen averaging 17.5 points, on 76.5 percent (26-of-34) shooting, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per game.
