  • For a Big West record seventh time this season, Caylen Alexander of Hawai'i has been named Offensive Player of the Week. The award eclipses the previous single-season benchmark set in 2007 when Cal Poly's Kylie Atherstone claimed six weekly offensive awards.

  • Alexander averaged 6.33 kills per set with a total of 57 kills and posted a .301 hitting percentage over Hawai'i's two-match road trip.

  • The junior opened the week with 36 kills on a career-high 85 attempts in a five-set setback at UC Riverside.  Alexander went 24-for-49 with just one error over the final three sets, hitting .469 over that stretch, and finished at .318 for the match. She became the first UH player with two 30-plus kill performances in a season since 2012. The 36-kill tally rates fifth in NCAA Division I for kills in a five-set match this season.

  • Alexander followed with 21 kills in a four-set win at UC Davis on Saturday to keep UH knotted in a four-way tie at the top of The Big West. The outside hitter posted double-doubles in both matches with 14 digs at UC Riverside and 10 at UC Davis.

  • The product of Alpharetta, Ga., bumped the season average to 5.35 kills per set, which stands in second in the country, and 5.88 points per set, good for third nationally.
