High School Centennial HS Hawai’i junior Caylen Alexander continues to put up big numbers to lead the Rainbow Wahine offense, claiming a fifth Big West Offensive Player of the Week award for the season after a pair of victories. The outside hitter averaged 6.22 kills per set while posting a .331 hitting percentage to go along with five total blocks and four service aces in wins versus Cal State Bakersfield and CSUN. Last Tuesday, Alexander led the UH attack with 28 kills in 51 attempts to hit .431 with 14 kills and three aces in a four-set win against the Roadrunners. The Alpharetta, Ga., native notched 28 kills with 15 digs to record a 12th double-double of the season Sunday’s five-setter against the Matadors. Alexander has finished with 20-plus kills in 11 matches this season and increased the league-leading averages to 5.23 kills per set and 5.76 points per set. Alexander sits in third in NCAA Division I in both statistical categories.
