High School Rancho Cucamonga HS Kameron Bacon led Long Beach State to a pair of road wins to claim the season's second Big West Defensive Player of the Week award, and a fourth career honor. The senior middle blocker averaged 2.00 blocks per set while limiting opponents to a .087 attack percentage in wins against CSUN and Cal State Bakersfield. Bacon contributed offensively as well, averaging 1.71 kills per set on a .476 hitting percentage. In a sweep of the Matadors, Bacon posted six total blocks, one unassisted, and registered six kills while hitting .625 (6-1-8) in the match. The product of Fontana, Calif., went on to post eight blocks and six kills on .385 hitting against the Highlanders as the Beach stayed in a three-way tie at the top of The Big West standings. Bacon is currently leading the league in blocks per set this season, denying 1.21 attempts a frame.
