  • Long Beach State first-year player Madi Maxwell turned in an excellent showing in a pair of road victories to pick up a first career nod as Big West Freshman of the Week. 

  • The opposite hitter averaged 3.00 kills per set while hitting .333 to go along with 2.57 digs per set and five aces in LBSU wins at CSUN and Cal State Bakersfield.  

  • Maxwell started the week with nine kills, seven digs, and one assist against the Matadors on Thursday.  

  • In Saturday's matchup against the Roadrunners, the Newhall, Calif., native posted a first-career double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs, while hitting .417 in the match (12-2-24). Maxwell also served up a career-high five aces, while chipping in four assists.
