  • Caylen Alexander of Hawai’i has been named Big West Offensive Player of the Week after landmark performance to cap the OUTRIGGER Invitational. The award is a first career offensive honor, and sixth overall after earning Freshman of the Week on five occasions back in 2022.

  • Alexander posted the highest kills total in the nation this season with a career-high 38 against Texas State on Saturday. The junior became the first UH player to break the 30-kill barrier since 2016 and the first to exceed 35 kills since 2006 on the way to earning Tournament MVP honors. Alexander hit .338 while taking 74 swings in the match, the most for a UH player since 2012, and helped close out the victory with nine kills in the fifth set alone. The junior also served up two aces and posted 13 digs for a sixth double-double of the season.

  • The Alpharetta, Ga., product racked up a total of 75 kills, or 5.36 kills per set, and had three aces and nine block assists for a total of 82.5 points (5.89 per set) in the three-win week for the Rainbow Wahine.

  • Alexander has posted 20-plus kills five times this season and moved up to third nationally with 5.09 kills per set and fifth 5.61 points per set, both Big West bests.
