High School San Clemente HS UC Irvine's Juan Chantaca placed second individually at the Irvine Invitational to earn The Big West Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week award. It is Chantaca's first career weekly honor. The redshirt freshman covered the Great Park 8K course in 25:10.9, the second-best time in a field of 116 finishers, leading the Anteaters to a second-place showing. It was Chantaca's first collegiate cross country race.
