High School Lamar HS Cal State Bakersfield's Sydney Dunning picked up Big West Offense Player of the Week honors for Sept. 9 to go along with Roadrunner Classic Most Valuable Player. The weekly award is a first for the sophomore. The Roadrunners went 3-0 on the weekend, with Dunning posting averages of 4.08 kills and 2.17 digs per set on .339 hitting to lead the team. The outside hitter finished with 49 kills over 12 sets played. In Friday’s five-setter against Seattle U, Dunning supplied a double-double of 20 kills and 11 digs to go along with three aces. Saturday, the Lamar, Colo., native capped the tournament with 18 kills on .390 hitting with four total blocks.
