  • UC Irvine outfielder Myles Smith slashed .550/.640/.700 with four RBI and four runs over four games to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week honor. It is the second consecutive weekly honor for Smith and third overall, having won it last week (May 13) and one other time earlier this season (April 29). 

  • The redshirt junior started the week with a 2-for-3 performance with one run and two walks in a 7-2 home win over LMU on Tuesday. 

  • Smith went 3-for-7 with one RBI in an 10-6 road win at Cal State Fullerton in Friday's series opener.  

  • The Anteater outfielder scored a run and drew two walks in game two at Fullerton.  

  • The Torrance, Calif. native hit 5-for-7 with three RBI, one run and one home run as UC Irvine won the rubber game and took the series with an 18-4 victory on Sunday. 

  • UC Irvine is 41-11 overall with a 20-7 conference record. Smith currently has a .421 batting average with eight home runs, 40 RBI and 48 runs scored this season.
