  • UC Irvine outfielder Myles Smith slashed .467/.636/1.067 with six RBI and nine runs over four games to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week honor. It is the second career weekly award for Smith, having won it once earlier this season (April 29). 

  • The redshirt junior started the week by drawing four walks and scoring a run in a 9-6 home win over UCLA on Tuesday.  

  • Smith went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, three RBI and four runs in an 18-3 road win at Long Beach State in the series opener on Friday. 

  • The Anteater outfielder had three RBI and two runs in an 11-2 victory over the Dirtbags in game two. 

  • The Torrance, Calif. native scored two runs in a 7-1 victory in the series finale that cemented UC Irvine's sweep over Long Beach State on Sunday. 

  • UC Irvine is 38-10 overall with an 18-6 conference record. Smith currently has a .414 batting average with 29 RBI and 32 runs scored this season.
