  • UC Irvine infielder Myles Smith slashed .600/.609/1.200 with nine RBI and eight runs over four games to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week honor. It is the first career weekly award for Smith.

  • The redshirt junior started the week with a 4-for-5 performance with three doubles and three runs scored in a 9-7 win at UCLA on Tuesday.  

  • Smith hit two home runs at UC Riverside on Friday for three RBI and two runs scored in a 15-1 road win. 

  • Smith hit another home run in game two and collected three more RBI as UCI downed the Highlanders 15-7. 

  • The Anteater outfielder hit 4-for-5 with three RBI and one run in a 12-3 road triumph that completed the series sweep of UC Riverside on Sunday. 

  • UC Irvine is 32-8 overall and tied for first in The Big West with a 14-4 in conference record. Smith currently has a .414 batting average with 29 RBI and 32 runs scored this season.
