• Gianluca Brunkow of UC Santa Barbara went a perfect 4-0 at to clinch consecutive Big West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week award. This is the third weekly distinction of Brunkow’s collegiate career (Feb. 28, April 17, 2024).
• Brunkow put up a 2-0 record in singles at the No. 2 spot with an impressive 6-2, 7-5 straight-set victory versus Antreas Djakouris of UC Davis. The Topanga, Calif. native followed up with a 6-2, 6-3 win against UC Riverside’s Justin Lamy. In doubles play, Brunkow boasted a 6-3 victory against UC Davis at No. 1 doubles. The pairing of Brunkow and Masjuan rank No. 38 overall in the latest ITA rankings. Against Cal Poly, Brunkow partnered with Lucca Lia to defeat Cal Poly’s Raz Haviv / Sean Kamyshev, 6-1.
• UC Santa Barbara enters The 2024 Big West Men’s Tennis Championship as the top-seed. The championship will take place April 26-28 in San Diego, Calif at the Barnes Tennis Center. The Gauchos will play the winner of No. 4 UC Davis and No. 5 Hawai’i on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m.
