Amari Jenkins Award Track Athlete of the Week Week Of 4/9/2024 Sport Track & Field School UC San Diego Year Senior Position Hurdles Hometown Moreno Valley, Calif. High School John W. North HS UC San Diego's Amari Jenkins won two events at the Triton Invitational to earn the Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor. It is Jenkins' second career weekly honor, having won it once in 2022 (April 26). The senior won the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:00.15. It ranks third in The Big West and 43rd in the region. The Moreno Valley, Calif. product took eighth in the 100m hurdles with a 14.31 effort. Jenkins also ran the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay team that won the event, clocking in at 3:47.14.
