The Hawai’i coupling of Anna Maidment and Sydney Miller went a perfect 4-0 at the TCU Invitational to claim Big West Pairs Team of the Week. This is a second career award for both Maidment (March 14, 2022 with Sofia Russo) and Miller (March 6, 2023 with Chandler Cowell), but the first as a tandem.

The duo dropped just one set all weekend, needing a third set in the Friday match against No. 5 TCU’s duo before getting past the Horned Frogs, 23-21, 20-22, 15-13. The Rainbow Wahine narrowly dropped the 3-2 team decision, but picked up a split on the day after taking down Texas, 3-2, to open play in the Invitational.

Saturday, the tandem helped the ‘Bows to the 4-1 team win over Houston Christian while earning the point at the fives, before against besting their opponents from TCU, this time at the fourth position in the lineup.

Three of the four wins for Maidment and Miller came in dominating straight set wins, with an average margin of victory of seven points.

Maidment and Miller have now won nine of their last 11 matches and are a team-best 17-5 (.772) on the season. UH has one more home weekend of action against GCU, Portland and Chaminade before a week break leading into the 2024 Big West Beach Volleyball Championship in Long Beach, Calif.
