  • Kevin Fitzer slashed .529/.619/1.000 with seven RBI and five runs, and led CSUN to a 4-0 week, to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week honor. It is the first career weekly honor for Fitzer.

  • The junior started the week with by belting a three-run homer to break open one-run game in an 8-4 win over Pepperdine on Tuesday. 

  • In game one of the series against UC Riverside, Fitzer hit 4-for-4, coming a homer shy of cycle, while tripling twice and doubling once in an 8-4 win on Friday. 

  • The Aliso Viejo, Calif. product went 4-for-6 in game two of the series, including hitting the go-ahead two-run single with two outs in the ninth to lift CSUN to a wild 15-13 win. 

  • The Matador outfielder reached base in all four games of the week (13 times total). 

  • CSUN is 14-9 overall and 4-2 in conference play. Fitzer has now reached base safely in 20 consecutive games and is currently batting a team-best .363 with 21 RBI, 20 runs and five home runs on the season.
