  • Cal State Bakersfield duo Vivi Kaelin and partner Ella Erteltova earned the season’s first Big West Pairs Team of the Week award after a perfect weekend on the sand. The pairing is just the second ever Roadrunner tandem to be recognized with weekly honors. 

  • Kaelin and Erteltova went 4-0 in the Cactus Classic hosted by Arizona, defeating pairs from the host Wildcasts, Boise State, Colorado Mesa and UTEP. 

  • Playing from the threes, the pair picked off pairs from Boise State and Arizona in the first day of action, both matches needing a third set.  

  • The second day’s wins came against sides from Colorado Mesa and UTEP, as Kaelina and Erteltova earned the point for the Roadrunners in straight-set victories. The win against the Minors was the most dominant, beating Katie Martin and Marian Ovalle, 21-16, 21-11.  

  • CSUB went 1-3 on the season-opening weekend after earning the 3-2 victory over UTEP to cap the weekend.
